Nowadays, Alliance rules this server with over 70% of the realm's population. The server has its benefits and drawbacks that go with any other server.Really good at PvP more than decent in PvE. lots of players online. The realm status is a steady "high". But do not go horde on Ravencrest, completely dead. Personally I would also recommend Ravencrest, if you're looking for an alliance-side server. Horde wise - Tarren Mill.Silvermoon is one of the most active PVE servers in EU for Alliance. If you're Alliance then I'd suggest staying on Silvermoon. If you're Horde then go Draenor. When I first started I had no idea what I was doing and created an Alliance character but the server I selected is like 80% horde.Silvermoon, sylvanas, Ravencrest, agent dawn (rp) from memory. That's ArgentDawn. Shows population per side for all servers. Silvermoon, Ravencrest (though it's way smaller than Silvermoon) and potentially Argent Dawn if RP interests you. I ran some queries on all NA servers today for population estimates as found using a check of those in the LFG chat channel. This is obviously not perfect but is a much closer estimate than Ironforge.Pro or CensusPlusWOTLK.Dalaran wow has outdated inferior scripts and low pop, while Cromiecraft is still in its lvling phase (they release 10 by 10 lvls every few months or so) with sub 1k pop at best and by now is considered a meme in the community. Other servers like old sunwells and whitemanes realms are empty. Depends on the faction. I love Silvermoon ( I am pve alliance): mixed origin players, very competitive, friendly players, possible to make a lot of money from AH, good guilds, friendly environment overall Having everyone on a realm be your faction means ALOT more players. Whereas the 50/50 split could make a big realm feel like a low pop one. I'm not sure of the status of the big pvp realms but I'm pretty sure the top ones like sargeras, Illidan and tichondrius are all weighted one way or the other as well.(again pvpers can chime in here)Horde-side it's absolutely dead. Alliance has more RP and activity overall, but the server has a LOT of toxic people in it now, and a lot of people who mock and insult RPers. That makes no sense. It is an RP server. Dalaran-Wow has been my default server for the past 6-7 years, and it is great too, just low pop now. The main reason I have enjoyed both is both are well-scripted servers, and have healthy economies. The first thing I do to "test" a private server is scan the AH.First of all, find a community or join a guild that makes world PvP activities / organized action. When you are farming Korthia, around world bosses (the world quests ones giving 500 anima) or the assaults, try to group. In custom groups you will probably find something “25 kills Korthia WM on” or “Korthi rare farming WM on”. Moon Guard! MG is actually not very populated. Most of the people you see there are just people sitting in the towns RPing, but in terms of doing content, it’s a fairly small server. Lagaran represent! Nothing is wrong with stormrage. I just want a “clean” start on a new server where I’m not distracted by my main.

Golemagg absolutely the best choice for free transfers at this point, good number of guilds 14/14 first week and multiple pugs clearing BT/Hyjal along with an active auction house, by no means a mega server but a top tier choice at no cost.
